Happy Mardi Gras y’all.
I got this gem from my SFAM for chrimmas, but I didn’t get it until after chrimmas. Instead of making you guys wait a year, I thought this would be an appropriate green for Mardi Gras this year.
Glittering Garland is a delicious green jelly packed with gold & green microglitter… and it looks like it has those China Glaze-famous glass flecks.
This is three coats without a topcoat.
I really really like this green (and I’m not much of a green lover).
Hubs and I are heading to the parades all day. I will try to tweet as many pictures as possible.
Be careful out there if you go party. Have a D.D. And that doesn’t mean Designated Decoy.
Thankfully, this color is in the core collection. I would be a sad panda without it.
This is from the Summer Days collection (Summer 2009). It’s a delicious glass-flecked jelly. Therefore, it has a bit of VNL (visible nail line). It wasn’t quite so severe in real life.
This is three coats plus topcoat.
I picked up this gem from Stephanie of Imperfectly Painted fame (thank you!).
I’ve been trying to get my paws on the whole Summer Days collection (Summer 2009) from China Glaze–ever since I first tried Strawberry Fields. All glass-flecked goodness all the time? Yes please.
The only ones that I can’t get easily are Cherry Pie and Orange Marmalade.
On to the Raspberry Festival pretty:
This is three coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
In sadder news, I woke up to a broken nail (thankfully not on my swatching hand). Apparently, I’m an aggressive sleeper–no idea how it happened.
It cracked almost all the way across at the smile line. I repaired it with a teabag and nail glue. I’ve used silk wraps and acrylic powders before, but never a teabag. I think I like it better than the silk wraps because the mesh is really fine. We shall see how it holds up.
And on Pink Wednesday too. :(
I apologize for being absent from the blogosphere. The hard drive on my computer died. And I mean it’s DEAD. What’s worse, it died right in the middle of my last post from my fishing weekend. And I was wearing this HAWT red holo from an Australian company that I had won in a giveaway. I was hurt.
So, I stole the hubs’ laptop to write this post. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have my printer software loaded that allows this comp to read the memory card from my camera when I stick it in the slot on my printer. And I had long ago lost the USB cable that would let me just plug it straight into a computer and pull pictures.
Soooooooooo. The best I can do would be to take camera phone pictures and email them to myself. Which is probably what I will temporarily do until we decide what to do about a new computer.
Until then, I leave you on Pink Wednesday with the very first polish picture I ever took:
China Glaze’s Strawberry Fields (my favorite pink polish evah).
I picked this up while dusty diving several months ago.
Originally released in winter 2008 as part of the Bahama Blues collection, Caribbean Blue is a really nice sky blue with silver glass flecks. I love the glass-flecked polishes. A lot. This is two coats.
And I was goofing off hardcore with the Scotch tape last night, and after reading Chloe’s Nails, this is what I settled on (btw, that’s China Glaze Glacier, one of the specialty glitters released 2009).
I really needs a lot of practice with the tape mani’s. I was cussing and cutting and scrapping then cutting some more. Just pretend that I lined the tape ends up closer to my cuticle edge LoL.
